What are your opinions on the quality of this? The owner, Greg Chait, claims to manufacture his cashmere by hand on 100 year-old looms in Mongolia (for whatever that's worth). Is the cashmere really that great or is it just marketing? Is it on par with Cucinelli and Loro Piana?

(For info on this brand, go to mrporter.com and check out some the items)

He has been around a while and done stuff for various designers. But the answer to your question is yes, Statesmen is extremely high quality and attention to detail will amaze you. Some of his fits are a little strange so I would try on the pieces you want before you buy, if possible.

He did a striped baja poncho looking thing that I am trying to find now for this winter.

i just got the cashmere rugby off mr. porter's sale
and i have to say, it is fantastically sumptuous
the cashmere is thick but incredibly well made
and feels miles better than my loro piana roadster one
    had to share
