For those of you who don’t know, Opening Ceremony is a boutique which offers many of the SF approved brands you know and love as well as a number of other mid and high end designers. There are stores in NYC, LA, and I don’t know where else internationally. I guess they’re best known for their footwear which is pretty popular. Anyway, their house line is a mid range brand which consists of what I find to be nicely styled stuff that isn’t super fashiony and very approachable from a number of aesthetics. Here’s the S/S ’09 stuff which went up recently along with their new website/webstore. This isn’t a runway show and this also isn’t the full collection. If you’re interested, hit up their website. F/W ’08 stuff is still available in decent qualities and 75% if you call and ask over the phone, though as more S/S stuff comes in they will clear more out…. Nothing mindblowing here, just fun, stylish spring summer stuff. Hopefully some of these looks will help people with this conundrum about what to wear for S/S? Hit up their webstore for much beter pictures of some individual pieces. http://www.openingceremony.us/produc...menu1&view=all

The short short may be back, but it doesn't look any better than it did when it left.

Rick Astley was the inspiration for this collection. I like some 80's influenced stuff - Margiela's members only style jackets, for example. But having come of age in the 80's (I was 16 in 1990), I just can't go the whole distance and do boat shoes, khaki shorts, oversized jacket, polos, and pastels, all at once. I guess that you can only do it once.

^I wouldn't kop for any less/more than 50% off, and the quality is about what you should expect from a mid-range designer. I have a shirt that has held up quite well and a blazer which is wonderful, and most of the knitwear is solid. Anyway, I'm just hoping some people will identify with the aesthetic or the styling.

Yea, i was always kinda confused where they got off charging those kinds of prices right off the bat as a house brand. Their shoes retail for a lot now. Definitely not worth it until it's sub $200 and even until you hit below $150, you understand that you're paying for a styling you can't really find with many other brands

A shame, as I like some of their shoes. I'm just not paying close to 400 for them.

I liked the blue ones they had, but last time i found them anywhere they were over 350 and having never seen them in person and heard only bad things I wasn't going to bite.

you can get some of the past season shoes on sales at eluxury.com for around 180-150. I do see the price goes lower when the site lets you take 30% off on sale items.

o.c is like a high end u.o. They want you to think that their own line is like those other brands they have in their store. I dont know the exact word but its like o.c is free riding on other designers success and they set their price similar to those labels but the quality may not be there. Anyway, wait for the uniqlo x o.c much cheaper.

I'm pretty sure the "30% off sale items" never applies to shoes. I know for a fact it doesn't apply to Final Clearance.
