Harry also has the WORST collection of Designers (Allen Edmonds, Tom Ford excluded)

It's very geared towards the 45-60 year olds with too much money and no idea what they are looking for.

Damn Harry Rosen! Even Elwood Flynn in Saskatoon lowered his AE pricing to reflect changes in the US/Canada exchange rate. Make the trip. Elwood has the Dalton in stock.

Why do you guys call it a 90 dollar mark-up when the two currencies don't even exchange one for one? I guess it might be some time-honored North American practice, but it seems kinda odd.

Well, at the current exchange rate of $1CAN = $1.02 US and after the banks or credit card companies take their vig, it is a wash. Other stores in Canada have adjusted their AE pricing so I can see what people might be pissed that Harry hasn't.

Whining of being screwed is part of our nature. Obviously one should find the best price that they are willing to pay whether locally or from across the globe. But on the other hand I can see why the OP is bothered because there is no benefit to him to develop a relationship with the bricks and mortar shop that he would prefer to use.

No different that people railing because an individual swoops in and snatches up sale priced RL or EG footwear before their end of the gets inside the door.

I don't care. Where I live all that I seek is located elsewhere so whatever Harry does makes no never mind to me.

But, sometimes it's good to review the principles of things and if nothing else, have a good rant over the injustice of it all.

Harry's sucks. Their SAs suck. Bloor carries Lanvin now though, which is nice. I only ever go there to browse though.

Definitely a place to check things out to purchase elsewhere.

+100 on their SA's being stunned except for a few.

I got a gift card and my home "SA" is at the Eaton Centre. They have a brand new location now that I've yet to visit. If AE is overpriced, think of the many lines of Hugo Boss they keep selling to the under 40s.
