So I've exchanged messages with this woman on Match.com for about a week, and we got along about as well as you could over the Internet. On Sunday she e-mailed me and suggested we meet sometime this week. She said she was working on Monday and Thursday, had an interview on Friday, and was willing to schedule something around my school and work schedule. I replied to her that same day saying I could meet on Wednesday between 10:30 and 2 because my classes were canceled. I haven't received a response from her since so I'm not sure if and when I should e-mail her again. What to do?

I'd give it another day or two before I re-emailed because no one wants to be offputtingly keen, but I wouldn't worry about it too much since she was the one who suggested yall go out.

Gotcha. Guess I'll do some homework during that time instead haha.

I can't check if she's read it since we're using real e-mail. I only had a 7-day-free-trial for Match.

Maybe she is having second thoughts or is simply shy about it? Who knows. Anyways it's the night before right? Well if she doesn't attempt to contact you before tomorrow and nothing happens don't worry about it. It's not a big deal. I say wait a few more days and then talk to her. You can suggest another time frame/place to meet during that conversation. If she weasels her way out of the second one then don't bother anymore.

I'm asking cuz I'm just not used to people at my age using online dating services.

College is pretty much the best dating service there is...unless its my college

Well I just received an e-mail from her saying she's down for lunch tomorrow. I can let this thread die now.

jyang: I used this service because I found a random 7-day pass online and decided to give it a shot. There really wasn't anything to lose. College is definitely a good place to meet girls, and I've dated a few classmates, but it's just nothing really came to fruition so far.

No please keep us updated.

I think it's interesting how online dating has started to turn. For a while it conjured up a rather negative image but given the current stage of the internet today, with Myspace and Facebook, people have been indirectly online dating for a bit. Perhaps one day online dating will surpass trying to meet people in the traditional ways.

Until you realize all those girls who looked so pale had just tweaked with their exposure (which you later determine should be set at zero).

But that's a very valid point. I have several friends who met their current partners on facebook but I doubt they'd ever call it online dating.

I think new you should go to some third forum, like a cell-phone forum, and ask them whether you should take our online dating advice about your online dating.

Good luck with the lunch.
