Unsanforized jeans are what can be referred to as shrink-to-fit. They will lose roughly 1.5-2 inches in the waist, 3 inches in the inseam, and around a .5 inch in other measurements.

You are supposed to soak these before you start wearing them, they probably won't fit otherwise. Either that or you screwed up on the sizing and they won't fit after the soak :p

They were on sale at 50% off at fit me to a T - perfectly before soak (other sizes were out).

I wouldn't mind a shrink in the waist but I want to wait till I stretch it out a bit; not sure if I'm making sense.

    My assumptions: wearing stretches jeans
    washing will shrink jeans
    = cancel each other out

The only part that wouldn't fit after a shrink is the thighs so I'm trying to get them as large as possible pre-soak.

the weather is cold where I live and my life style means I won't be breaking any seams or anything so I'm not worried about weakening the jeans

    does this make any sense?

That's a bad assumption. They are gonna shrink to the same point, regardless of whether you stretched them out first or not.

    damn, haha.
    hmmm
I guess I'll have to do the whole sit in the warm bath tub and dry with them on thing from sufu.

Btw, do you what the difference in the kabuki-vedge model and the normal vedge is? (What does vedge even mean?)

Here are some pics, are these too tight? I usually don't tuck. Waist fits great and hasn't stretched, even after a warm soak and wash - not sure why. those slippers.... [IMG] not bad boots though, what are they? and the jeans look/fit really well imo. [edit: they do look like they're riding up. just that picture or do they regularly do that? if it's normal, is that not extremely uncomfortable?]

They look a size small. They're riding up your ass. If the waist in a size up is a little loose, consider a more relaxed cut

I changed the back photo. If I stand with my fit close together my thighs rub together. That might have been what caused the crotch fade. Does it still look like the jeans are riding up my ass? The slippers are from a 4 star hotel in China (In China, the stars in a hotel are vastly overrated so it was fairly terrible). They are very cheap. The boots are RMWilliams Craftsman I think, the wholecut ones.

hmm I've searched through all the threads and shops and haven't found a jean with a sub 30 inch waist and 12+ inches of thigh room, even in the relaxed cuts. This is the first pair of jeans I didn't near to wear a belt but they look really tight imo. (this one is a hair under 30 inches at 29.80 and 12 inches of thigh space probably because I stretch it out - 12.5 would be a dream). But I'm still looking. http://item.rakuten.co.jp/hinoya/oni-57tk/ デニムで、防縮加工、ねじれ加工も施していない為に洗うとカラダにフィットし、キレイな天然藍 Can anyone tell me what that means?

Sorry, no fit pics for me yet, but I agree with you. The Blue cut, sized down 1 or 2, is one of my favorite fits ever.
