Few weeks ago I had my fitting for new suit made from navy houndstooth fresco that @dieworkwear organized this year. I forgot to post pics, so here they are. Suit should be finished next week, so will post finished product

At first I thought it would be a nice casual(ish) suit where I could use jacket separately (so, relaxed shoulders, patch pockets...), but when I received fabric it was obvious this is a serious suit stuff. At least that's how I feel.
Thoughts?

I have it worse. Traveling tailors don't even want to come to Louisiana.

We do have a tailor in Baton Rouge, Manuel Martinez (who was patronized by CoolPapaBoze). But from what I understand, he is less bespoke, more MTM. Thought about maybe doing an interview for SF purposes. Never really seen any of his work in person.

Sometimes I want to move out of the Bay Area, but one of my (embarrassingly serious) considerations is being in or near a city where there are good tailors.

Haven't spent enough time in DC to know what it's like there, but the one time I visited was fun.

On the plus side, living in a city without bespoke tailors or traveling bespoke tailors is less expensive, which affords you the opportunity to spend more money on clothes. So there is that.

The back looks very snug. Considering where the front edge has been marked off in chalk and where it is pinned now, if that proposed front is going to overlap what will the back be like then?

Not sure what you are referring to.
On this fitting I wasn't asked anything except do I want espresso or some real booze.
I worked with this guy before, his jackets are comfortable, I am not worried.

Re local tailors. If you are putting up with traveling tailors, have you considered you being the one to travel? They have airplanes now.
Re New York, the boroughs are part of New York City, they surround Manhattan.
