That's fantastic! I'm probably too much of a coward to ever do anything similar myself, but I cannot but admire the piece. It's the sort of thing that one would stare at in the street, but in the best of ways.
One thing I've learned is I'm overly attracted to shiny things, like the above, and lack a lot of basics in my wardrobe.

One of the most basic "rules" in classic menswear that I've failed to adhere to.

I think I'm going to stick with classic stuff for now, then move on to cool things once I have a more established wardrobe.

Watching the original Thomas Crown Affair and his sleeve buttons caught my eye:

I believe that you might have gone with the 30L (19.0mm) buttons, as not only are they appropriate for a single-breasted jacket, but they also dimensionally match with the 23L ones; 35L (22.0mm) buttons, on the other hand, are destined for a double-breasted jacket.

At any rate, these are great choices, and when sewn, we would like to see pictures!

Cheers,

Dimitris
Dimitris:
It will be a while before that wool/linen suit will be ready as the Italians are on summer break. But here are a few shots of those matte blue horn buttons on other suits. There is a navy and a lighter blue.

Also interested, debating getting a sport coat made in either the green or brown

Sequel? You mean the ‘99 remake?
Yeah sorry the 99 remake. This will sound sacrilegious but it’s in my opinion the better film by a far mile. One of the best remakes ever done. I thought the suits were better than the original...with the exception of the ‘dinner jacket’. If it didn’t have the white bow tie it would have been a great movie dj

Bought some of the Brown. I'll post pictures once I receive it. Probably getting the green as well.

Thanks. Look forward to seeing your pics and hearing your impression of it.

The clothes in the original just like the remake are a product of their time.

I share your opinion that the remake is a better film overall.

Yeah I am a 90s brioni fanboy...

ps I’m aware the suits in the film are not by brioni but the cut is very much 90s brioni

I have a sport coat in the Oatmeal being made up now; I'll post some pics when it's finished, hopefully in the next month or so.

I got you. I took these initially for my Instagram stories.
