I have four short-haired cats in house, so cat fur has always been a big issue. The clothes I wear daily need to be brushed clean, placed in a bag, and then stored in the closet. Otherwise, they will quickly be covered in cat fur and scratch. Some of the troubles that come with the happiness they bring.

My cat luckily decides the only thing she wants to scratch is a plastic slipper, not sofa, not furniture leg, nothing clothes or shoes…

Very nice.
A true Chesterfield is a bit shorter. Any thoughts of shortening up the coat?
This is practical if I’m looking for another topcoat for autumn. Since this coat is made for winter, the 48" length is good to cover my knees. Additionally, the Brio-style cut (with its strong shoulders, wide lapels and relaxed fit) is a good way to showcase the dense, soft cashmere in my opinion.

It’s fine to wear with a jacket at -2°C, but I think it would be cold if it drops another 5°C. I haven’t tried the mink lining yet, but I guess it would only be useful when it’s about 10°C colder.
That is an idea for a lighter weight coat: a detachable lining.

First fitting of the double breasted Escorial. This is the first double breasted jacket I've had made up and there were a number of adjustments to be made. I got to have the fun experience that the tailor tears open the collar to adjust something.

And the final product(s) for the youngest's outfit.

This is awesome to see. Looking forward to being able to bring my kid to get something made down the line.

It was not something I was expecting to share with my kids. The middle one totally turned it down. The oldest would never truck with my sartorial predilections. The youngest, though... Now he and I can go somewhere. And we are: Straight to the photographer's. I am going to get pics of that kid in that fit at this time for both of us.

That’s awesome. Closest we’ve been is playing with swatches and bringing his little jacket to the alterations tailor. We’ll get there though. I’ve got some lengths tucked away for him.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
