Brushed wool refers to the treatment of the cloth after it has been finished.
It can create a coarser texture to the wool it's generally used on heavier cloth
There a few good example in the "golden bale bunches"

I think I'm going to get two patch pocket jackets in this lovely cashmere for winter
To be worn with some casual trousers I recently had made.

Something general I have been wondering for a while: is there any difference in patch or flap pockets in regard to durability? It came to my mind now because of the cashmere.

I ripped open a flap pocket on a cotton jacket once, none of my patch pockets, though.

Thank you for the clarification! I think that is what I am really after. A four season navy suit with a somewhat courser texture than what one would normally get from a worsted. There will be much swatch browsing this winter...

The jacket is by Chris Despos.

And the fabric, not really certain. It is Scabal. But I am not certain of the details. Chris had it on the wall. It is similar to the Phoenix bunch. But I felt that this had a bit more depth, and variation in color.

Ah that's great to hear, always good to hear happy customers

It's a combination of Dan, Lewis & Russell posting

Have you been watching Russell on his to show?

It depends on a few things,
what you were doing to it
How the pocket was made
How light the cloth is

Our patch pockets have linen in to hold the shape but they are both quite durable in that sense
You should always be able to take it back and get it repaired by your Tailor if that happens

We're always more than happy to repair things like that.

This is my first bespoke commission ever. Photo is from my second fitting and there will be some adjustments on jacket - making chest and shoulders smaller, the quarters will be more open and rounded. The fabric is tweed from Harrisons WB12112.

I'm also thinking about shortening the jacket... What do you guys think?
