I fall into the pretty short category (try 5'1) and I've that noticed that dress shoes usually come with one inch heels, though the heels themselves seem pretty bulky.

I'm on the lookout for some new dress shoes, though I worry that with my short stature and the height of the heel, it will just make me look "weird"; perhaps out of proportion.

Do I have a valid concern or am I just being too self-conscious here?

1 inch heels are totally standard and pretty low. Running shoes have 1 inch heels

As such 1 inch heels = guaranteed worry free! Going any shorter would look ridiculous.

TBH they frustrate me ( I am only 5'6") and I much prefer 1.25" or 1.375".

Now you only have to worry about the bulkiness and design of the shoes! Being short means you need to avoid bulky.

Most of my shoes have heels between .75- 1" , they look normal to me.

I'm looking at 1.25"-ish for my next commission.

FWIW, I'm 5'9.
