The current Polo aesthetic as embodied here doesn't do much for me.

That's how much pants to my tweed suit look. No crease. But IMO a good country look.

Tweed suit jacket.

For some reason, I really do not like this look. Something -- the suit, the pose, can't put my finger on it -- makes this guy look round and pudgy.

Well, the color is sort of '70's. As for pudginess, it's probably because (a.) he's making a scrunched-up face, and (b.) he's got his hands in his flat-front, slim cut trousers, which pulls the sides out and makes his hips look wide.

And (c) his face is a little puffy anyhow. Some people just have 'heavier' faces, even if they are not overweight.

Either the wind or the pose (or the fit) is pulling the lapels apart and off his chest, which isn't flattering. I have a pic from a party where my lapels are like that, I look like I'm bustin' out.

I like the suit, though.

Maybe because the suit is one size too small??

+1. The collar was the first thing that drew my attention.
Interesting collar on the 2nd pic as well...
