I think he should untuck the jeans and get some aviators instead, then he's good. He otherwise carries a bit much of the "I'm trying hard" vibe.

Sadly, yes. The only thing worse than slavishly following a stupid trend that was never a good idea is still following a stupid trend that people have finally realized was never a good idea.
