Thank you. The backdrop for that last pic is an old amphitheatre here in Copenhagen.

Never ben a fan of this, sorry.

That's a bit severe for me. I like many of the combinations in the Good Taste and CBD threads, even though I prefer more simplicity *for me*. Of course, I don't have to dress for a CBD environment so that may account for some of the different preferences.

At times I'm surprised that there aren't more on SF that give the 'all solids' a go.

As cheasy as it may be, I can't deny being inspired by the fits of these two - otherwise totally unknown - gents:

Particularly because it allows one to show off his ability to be subtle. Without obvious patterns, you have to match (or contrast) fabric and weave.

Must say I've started to favour solids with the exception of the occasional check shirt or pindot tie. Maybe I'm growing up ... maybe I'm boring ... maybe both?

Just stumbled over this thread. Given that I work in a very conservative company this is basically the way I dress most of the time at work. From a distance solid, but on closer examination patterned. Most of the times not more than 3 colours.

    Does this qualify?

^ That looks pretty good, though I think I'd prefer a more bottle green tie with the grey suit.

Found this thread yesterday and found it very enjoyable. Today's outfit is most certainly inspired by it (x-post from WAYWRN):

Genuine curiosity (not a loaded question): Why is the knot so unbalanced? Could just be the light, I suppose (the shadow on its right side is pretty deep). Also figured
    a) didn't care
    b) add some whimsy
    c) just because

and is the tie navy (I think) or black?

Well I think is a combination of a) lighting, b) that I took the picture halfway during the day, so what looked like an OK knot this morning didn't by lunch time and c) that I suck at tying FIH knots. I think mostly it is c) :embar: - I need to attend the "University of Spoo" and take the course in "Magnificent four-in-hand knot tying".........

My guess: most of us don't own enough solids to play this game.

Another x-post from WAYWRN. Would have liked that tie to be a deeper green... I've cheated because the pocket square's patterned as is the suit (albeit very subtly).

I get the feeling this will be the third thread I check regularly on SF.

^ iLike. And I would too if the tie had been black, as it nearly looks like, but that I know it isn't.

Props to Kaplan to pointing this thread out in the Whnay threak.

X-poast but I think this qualifies.

I think a PS would detract.
