I've read here and other places people saying that once yuo go 'premium' you never wanna go back. I was like what a crock of ****. But yesterday it was rainy and nasty and I wanted to give my preme's a break. So I dragged on an old pair of x-ray jeans that I got as a gift. I wanted to puke. They are way softer than anything I've been wearing for the past 2+ months and while you'd think that'd make them more comfy - I really missed the feel of my other jeans. And not just the feel, teh look, teh fit - everything meng!!

Am I gonna be addicted to this? Are there people out there that can offer help? Do I just suck it up and start putting money aside for future purchases?

PS: What did you guys do with your inferior jeans? Are they still in your closet? Or did you just donate them all to goodwill?

donate them. give them to people who like them.

of course the only non-premium jeans ive had in a while are vintage, which are about the same, just some bad fits. i just gave my last pair of orange tabs to a guy i work with and he couldnt believe it. called them "real jeans" made my day.

Good idea. I'll phase them out of my closet in order of quality. But over time. I don't have enough "real jeans" to be giving them all away yet.

You ever done a jeans count? How many do you have in TOTAL. (prem, real, and other)

I've given away everything but Canes, Sams, Ralf.
Still too many, IMO. Ideally, I'd have just two, black and blue.

7 for all mankind? Nah.

I keep mine. Good for a change up once in a while, and for doing things that could seriously stain them, like changing oil. Though I haven't had a car for a couple years, so... yeah, I basically never wear them. Still, I think of them like an ex-girlfriend's phone number. Sure, right NOW you might not see any reason to keep it around, but some drunken day in the future....

See, this is why I haven't gone premium with denim yet. I'm already screwed with my shoes now that I know what good shoes actually feel like, I don't think I have enough money to become addicted to premium denim.

I have 3 pairs of jeans - a dark RR (used deluxe), a light RR (worn broken) and dry black SJ. I can't see myself buying another pair for quite a while.

My premium jeans are Levis and my non-premium jeans are Lee and Wrangler, so no, I haven't given my "non-premium" jeans away.

I have a ton of diesels from back in the day that I haven't gotten rid of yet. But they will go some day. As for real jeans, SS Dry and a one wash RRL "bootcut". Of course, I need black jeans so I think I'm gonna get SJ dry blacks, and then what about broken twill? So that will be the bootcut ola dry muchacho. And then what about blue black jeans? That adds RR Blue black one wash to the list. And then natural indigo...so thats gonna be some japanese jeans.......

This is a little weird, seriously. I mean, I understand the appeal of 'premium denim' - I have a pair of Nudie BB's, a pair of rock&republics, a pair of paper denims - but my favorite pair of jeans is a pair of fairly relaxed gap jeans I have from my freshman year of high school. They've totally faded, ripped a little around the hems, been repaired, faded more, and are now the most comfortable things in the universe. I"d never give away a pair of jeans until they were absolutely blasted out - too many beaches to go too, bikes to ride, buses to get on, etc.

see... thats why id never get designer denim... i dont want to be afraid to live in my jeans. with my canes, i feel like i could wear them riding bulls and be fine, but if i had a pair of nudies or some other fashion brand id try to keep them nice.

interesting. I think of 'Canes as being "designer" just as much as Nudies, altho I use the term "premium" since designer makes me think of overpriced jeans like Prada or mall jeans like 7s
