Look good modded. I do have a soft spot for the tuner culture: I love the idea of taking your car and making it a personal expression as well as a tool for what you love to do on the track: drift, drag, hit the perfect line, or just screw around.
Of course, the trick is to trick out the car and make it look DIFFERENT from all the other ricers out there. And that takes money, time, and some intelligence.

Yep. It's definitely an R34 - the inward-slanted headlights are what give it away.

I would take that car over pretty much anything except an Aston. Especially here in the state's an R32 or R34 is rarer than anything but a Koenigsegg...

All of the cars pictured on this thread, but especially the E30 on top and the criminally butchered FD RX-7 (one of very, very few Japanese cars to be truly beautiful) are prime candidates for a VW "Time to unpimp ze ouw-toe" commercial.

Do you live in California? In LA County, in the Asian community around Pomona, I see R34s more often than one would expect. I like them a lot, but I think they're still too much of a powerful beast for my taste. I would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money and the hook-ups, so don't get me wrong, I just think there are better cars coming out Japan.

I think there are people who special order an automatic for Ferraris, and such.

Actually, the largest market for automatic Ferrari's is the USA. Especially, in FL and Cali. It's a combination of the traffic and ease of use. At the same time more and more Ferrari's come equipped with flappy-paddle gearboxes, which have both an auto and manual mode, thus the driver gets to choose how he wants to shift.

And just for edification: the manu-matic flappy-paddle gearboxes used in Ferraris are not true automatics, they are manual gearboxes that have a computer controlling the release of the clutch, and this is evident at low speeds in auto mode, because the shifts tend to get a bit jerky as the computer is uncertain how fast and in which gear to shift up / down into (I've been in a Maserati Quattroporte, and I have seen this happen firsthand).

Also, some models now only come with flappy-paddle gearboxes, such as the Ferrari Enzo.

Never see 'em here in the NorthEast. Maybe it's just an East Coast-West Coast thing.
