Anyone know where they are made? I found a pair on E-Bay but the seller says they are not sure if they are authentic.

I would need to replace the lenses so that is not an issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have a pair of the Alter-Egos, and they have "Frame - Japan" stamped on the end of the right arm.

Every pair that I have seen are made in Japan, as well as the branded Paul Smith frames.

Some of the best eyewear are still coming out of Japan. The last 2 pairs (performance types) I bought had Japan stamped on it.

It is pretty amazing that they still have a good hold on eyewear manufacturing after all these years. About 15 years ago I worked in product development for an NYC designer and we were producing eyes out of Japan. And they are still one of the best it would appear.

Paul smith frames are made by oliver peoples, and all oliver peoples are made in japan.

the acetate that is made in japan is vastly superior to that from italy, where luxotica make most frames for your typical designer labels. there are a few boutique manufacturers around who typically make high grade frames
