Well, it's happened, one of the most popular football (soccer to you guys) player for Man United in the modern era has announced his retirement as a player. He gave me and many other fans great memories, including wiping the smiles off a bunch of Bayern Munich fans and Liverpool fans. Priceless.

I will never forget sitting in that classroom in grad school (the closest tv to my office) watching ManU come back to win the Champions League. That was awesome.

I've always like the Baby Faced Assassin. I had a feeling this was coming, though. He just couldn't get over that knee. But word is, he's already doing some coaching with the club and quite likes it.

i remember watching him about ten years ago. they would only let him play the last ten minutes of the match and he would always score. he must have had the best strike rate per minute of anyone, ever.

I remember liking this guy back when I watched soccer a lot, when Man U was having a few great years
