Man, you'd think people on this forum were amish or something the way they react to a little ankle.

It's called a pinroll and it looks fine.

Skulls have an amusingly huge leg opening that looks like absolute shit if it's not cuffed up, additionally, you'd be surprised how much cooler it is with a little ventilation on your ankles, additionally, rolled jeans with boots is a classic american look.

Don't usually comment on people's fits because I don't post any of my own, but I think the pin roll looks great. I really like it with your boots too. Well done.

Hali sorry but i don't think the pinrolling worked with this particular outfit. I see some on 5th Dimension who work this technique quite well...in general i think it looks better with an outfit that is more street, looser silhouette, and not quite as dressy as what you had on.

marrakech this is better, a more fitted look suits you.

    singular looks fantastic

and i think newthunder does have a distinct style, which was why i commented on her apparently uncharacteristic jeans/blazer/boots look, the uniform of media types in London. she may not 'embody a particular designer's look' but surely that's just a tacky idea anyway.

Phat-- isn't it a bit too hot to wear a suit in Singapore right now?
    - Sure is, but I have no choice - comes with my role in the organisation.. How long I can last I don't know as I will be relocated here in Oct for abut 1.5 - 2 years!

dont you get caned or thrown in jail if you litter???
    - so I have heard..

I've heard chewing gum is illegal in Singapore also.
    - that too

i think singular and newthunder have blown everyone else away..
+1 is that why we have more critical posters & less actual FITs?

Thanks for the comments on the dress. Rick Owens does know how to make his pieces enhance the woman body, and has designed the back part with extra silk. I don't know how it would be wearing it the other way around.. I'll try it though, and let you know [IMG]

    ro x dh x prada

    - sigh..

Haha, i guess i do that a lot huh?
    Point taken [IMG]

    - I heart the pidgeon stance

Phat Guido It took me a little time to warm to you. You started with a lot of strikes against you (in my book, which carries absolutely no weight in any system anywhere), I'm generally against displays of wealth, business style, untucked shirts, etc.
But I like what you do. I'll never be ok with your casual outfits (shirttails... GRRRRR) but your suits are extremely well worn, and each piece complementing them works perfectly. You have the sort of style that takes a few viewings to even notice it, but as Loos would say, the point is not to stand out, but to fit into the element perfectly. You've achieved that, you have the whole picture, the whole package, and it looks good.

    blah blah blah

    - WOW, thank you..

I never said I wished to take the banner of Loos. That PG exemplifies that particular idea interests me, and I can appreciate it, but I've never been one to match the wallpaper.
    - Have I missed something?
