I searched and couldn't find one.

To be honest, I dont want to know everything about shoe trees, just want to find some under $50 for my new AEs. I saw the container store has a pair for something like $18. Do I really need to drop ca$h on this item? Does it make a difference?

As far as I know, the quality of a shoe tree is based around the quality of the wood... but you're asking in the wrong spot. If you're feeling a little risky, hop over to Men's Clothing. Be careful.

depends on the tailor. I've seen people on here post pics of tapered selvage in which the tailor only took in the other side, and I saw one picture (I think it was on sufu) of a guy who had his Imperial Kings taken in and the selvage was tapered, so it was really wide. I thought it was a cool look.

Can, functionally, any shirt be cut down to a smaller size in the body, within reason? For example, a XL Kiton to a L Band of Outsiders.
kronik, the only place you might run into trouble is the arms. It's difficult to shrink the armscye, as there's not usually much fabric at the side (I would assume especially if you're taking it in in the chest at all). If it already fits well in the upper arms, it shouldn't be a problem.

I've never actually had this done, but I did have a jantzen shirt that was slim in the body with big armholes (measurement mistake), and it looked odd.

Any ideas on how Allegri casual jackets fit? Will Tobi measure a piece for you if you call them? http://www.tobi.com/Product/3152-All...-Safari-Blazer They have sz 52 and 54 left; I can wear 50R if it is cut generously in the shoulders or 52R if it is slim overall.. not sure if I should pull the trigger on the Allegri 52R, thanks.

Any insight as to sizing on these shoes? If it was absolutely prohibitive, I could try to find a store to try them on, but I don't have the time, and I'm even slightly on the fenc about dropping that cash.

Thanks in advance.

It's difficult to compare dress shoes with athletic shoes. If I had to guess, I'd say try a 11D, but that's sort of a wild guess though.

Hmm thanks for the feedback guys.

I don't think I could pull off the varvatos belt, but I'm going to hold off on the RL one.

You should buy the epic shoe trees in the thread kronik posted. They're the "official" SF shoe tree, $20.
