1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

does anyone have experience with skulls 5010 and IH 301S? my skulls are sz 28 and i'm wondering how i should size in 301s if i want the same waist fit.

Your best bet is to email or PM Kiya at Selfedge, or post in the Selfedge affiliate thread, seeing as he sells both and he's extremely knowledgeable with denim, he'll be able to tell you the ins outs and differences between the two.

thoughts on a sperry topsider chukka?
was considering getting a pair of desert boots in beeswax leather but already have a pair in grey and want something less sleek and more clunkier, yet still maintaining a slim profile because i'm 5'5" 120 lbs and "real" boots (red wings, timbs, etc) look like clown shoes on me. enough with my rambling. i'm pretty set on a pair of sperry chukkas but don't know whether to go for brown suede or brown leather.
brown leather (note i'd put beige laces on them from brown suede to contrast)

thank you for any and all replies

edit: these would be worn with APC PS, uniqlo skinny cords, misc flannels, and the rest of the SF approved boring shit i have, maybe a somewhat interesting sweater or two, nothing fancy)

I'd go with the leather, they'll look and hold up better

I have a question, those dress shirts with the extra button about mid bicep level to hold on to your sleeve when you roll them up, is there a specific name for these type of dress shirts? Thanks in advance.

I usually see these referred to as "roll-up shirts" or "roll-up sleeve shirts", whether or not they are safari- or work-styled.

Where do you fall on this spectrum. This image is obviously biased towards the middle picture, though from my observations it seems that the length in the third pic is most common. I'm usually closer to #2. And does it vary based on personal/professional setting. I'm also sporting #2 at work, usually.

I like the 3rd pic for shirts. Makes shirts more casual. I do #2 out of utility, when its hot.

Probably between a 2 and 3. I hate having the roll on my elbow, way uncomfortable.

Question: My little brother is old enough that he doesn't want to be dressed by our mother any more, and he wants some non sports trainers, something like Converse.
The only catch is he has very broad feet so I am looking something similar but wider fitting, or can you get wide fitted converse?
So wide fitting, similar style to converse, nothing expensive or rare, he is only a kid and they won't get treated well. Got to be available in the UK.
Any help or suggestions much appreciated.
If I don't get any help I will start a special flower thread, just warning you all.

^Check out the Jack Purcell by Converse line. They are bit wider and the prices are reasonable.

A little off this topic but still somewhat relevant. What are the bands that go around the sleeves of a long sleeved shirt to hold them up called? You see sometimes pictures of old bartenders wearing them while working.

Going to see Cirque du Soleil next week - how should my girlfriend and I dress? I don't want us to be horribly over/under dressed, and she doesn't know what we're going to so I just told her to wear a dress. Yea/nay?

    XS should do it.

Looking for an online shop that sells Filson Italy (black label) stuff. There's plenty of them on Rakuten but they only sell sizes suited for japanese guys.
