I'm near Indianapolis.

There probably isn't, but I thought I would try to see if there were any cool places to shop.

There should be a few Wal-marts nearby.

Mostly douchey stuff, and I'm not sure that they are around anymore, but Frankeys did carry CP Company, Inhabit, James Perse, Acne, and Velvet Men, which are all good for basics, at very least. Of course, they also have super douchey stuff.

Unless they were born and raised here.

OP, check the net, you probably have something like a Macy's or Boston Store (at least) in Indy, check those out. There has to be a mall with the basic menswear mall brands (Gap, JCrew, etc) If not... drive to Chicago. It's only 2 hours.

I get this feeling all the time. Born and raised (apart from a stint overseas) in the South, and decided to head to Purdue for University... not a bad school by any means, but there's just nothing here.

Indy is alright, though. Not much in the way of outlets or little niche stores, but it's a cool city for other reasons. The internet is your friend around here, though.

As for hating the **** the midwest gets, I feel your pain every time someone equates the South = Stupid racist bible-thumping morons.

Well, I hate the South because of the weather. We do fire work in Florida, and boy, does it suck. No wonder people are so frickin' angry. The North East (I lived in Boston for 4 years) sucks for weather too. You get a cold winter, a few nice weeks of spring and fall when it's not raining, and then a hot, muggy, AC-less summer. No wonder people are so rude and angry. The west is where it's at, whether it's northwest or down in California.

There isn't much in Indianapolis, but you are a short drive from Chicago, though Chicago sort of sucks for shopping too, compared to NYC and LA.
