    1) great idea
    2) personally I prefer buff for a waistcoat, but nothing wrong with dove
    3) I think notch for the wedding is worse than peaks for business later. Also black isn't really a great business suit anyway so you'll more likely use it for going out, and you'll want peaks then too
    4) no time to waste if you want this by Oct

Thanks for your feedback! What do you think about a black jacket vs. dark grey? I know that black suits are not exactly popular on SF, but one or both of my groomsmen may be wearing black. In addition, black seems to be the most typical (and formal) colour for a stroller. Do you think that a dark charcoal grey stroller suit would look out of place?

I think the stroller is black jacket and black only. There's nothing wrong with a charcoal suit and a dove or buff vest though.

I beg to disagree, Oxford grey (very dark charcoal) has always been considered correct for morning wear, including the black lounge.

Really? Do you have any pics of non black stroller? Not disagreeing, genuinely curious

Thanks for the feedback. From what I've read, my understanding is that both black and dark charcoal are acceptable for morning dress / strollers, although black would be the slightly more formal (and traditional) choice. I could be wrong, but I think the second picture I posted above is dark grey.

Black may also look better if my groomsmen were wearing black. Since a stroller jacket should typically be ventless, the more formal "colour" may make more sense. But grey would still likely be more versatile in the long run, though.

This is where being indecisive sucks... [IMG]

Do the groomsmen have alternatives to the black suits? They are not optimal for daytime.

Possibly, although one of them was married in a black suit a couple years ago, and it's probably the nicest suit he has. I believe the other one has a grey suit that would probably work.

My thinking has been that as long as they are both in dark suits, I'm not too particular about the specifics. I agree that black is less than ideal though, especially for the photos. But if I were in a black stroller jacket, I don't think it would be the end of the world.

Check this thread, similar discussion and the OP thanked me for it http://www.styleforum.net/t/306399/mtm-stroller-in-eastern-pa#post_6208348

Go for peak lapels 3 pieces suit and the cashmere stripes additional trousers. For me, characoal grey is almost black, mine is like that, and only comparing it to true black you can see that is lighter then black. In Italy a lot of wedding happen in Mezzo tight (stroller ) and they use plenty of almost black characoal grey.

Thanks, Marco. I think I still much prefer the black for a stroller, but looks like Oxford gray at the leastis a viable alternative.

Thanks for sharing the link; I had read that thread previously, but not since the OP added the final pictures. It looks great, and is pretty much what I am trying to replicate (although I'll probably go with Samuelsohn instead of Coppley). The only thing I'm worried about is the trousers. I was in a Harry Rosen the other day, and flipped through their Samuelsohn cloth swatches. I couldn't find anything in a formal grey cashmere stripe, although there were some that would probably do in a pinch. If I'm going to go to the effort (and cost) though, I'd love to get the real deal when it comes to the trousers.

If I end up having to source the trousers separately, any ideas of where I could look? Short of going bespoke, they may be pretty hard to find in Canada, since morning dress is almost unheard of here.

Not sure about the places you have mentioned or where you can get one, but if you can bring your own fabric or they can source it for you Smith Woollens & H Lesser (Harrison) have plenty of choices in their formal books. Plenty of Italian mills do too, I think I have seen more modern finished ones in a Drapers book at Marinella's London boutique on Gianni Volpe visit there in February.

In any case, here are mine, first picture with the swatch/details on top of the trousers:

Here is what I wore last October for a late-afternoon wedding:

Stroller (I asked for a dark charcoal suit, jacket with peak lapels, one button, besom pockets, no vent): Coppley
Formal daytime trousers (one pleat, no cuff): H. Freeman
    Tie: Drakes wedding tie
    Waistcoat (dove grey): Coppley
Boots: Black Allen Edmonds Fifth Street
Shirt: White spread collar, french front, turnback cuffs
Pocket Square: Kent Wang white silk

My groomsmen bought charcoal leisure suits from Men's Wearhouse (insert groans, but they looked better than any rental). I got them all matching wedding ties and while pocket silk from thetiebar.com. My groomsmen gifts were black umbrellas from Howard Yount - outdoor wedding in October - best to be prepared (luckily it was a beautiful day anyway).
