Is the "wedding tie" still a thing? And if so, is the tradition more for the groom or for guests as well?

I used to have a Prince of Wales style tie but I am wondering if I should get a new one for an upcoming formal (not black tie) wedding or if something from my wardrobe will be fine.
I've never seen anyone in real life wear a "wedding tie" at a wedding (except for me, usually the only menswear-pilled person in attendance), so I'd say anything classic and formal is fine. For reference, I've probably gone to about 10-12 weddings in the past 5 years in the Northeast/NYC area.

I have a wedding tie because I'm a sucker for things being "by the book". I also have a tie for funerals, for alma mater events... so. I mean I see people in sneakers at weddings now that still say cocktail/semi-formal attire so no one gives a hoot anymore. If you like it, wear it. If you're on a forum like this, you'd be well suited (no pun intended) to get a wedding tie.

I also love wearing wedding ties. When I was getting married back in 2016 I got "wedding" pattern ties for me, my groomsmen, and my father/future FIL. Some great places to shop for them. I ended up using
