Dsauerwald, great photos and yes, the tuxedo looks great on you

I am in the market for a tuxedo myself
Getting married at the end of October
A 430pm ceremony with cocktail hour and reception following at 6pm on

I checked out the tuxedo at Brooks brothers (okay at $1200) and Ralph Lauren (way too expensive at $2500-3000)
    Next stop is Suitsupply
The price point is great so I hope SS works out for me

Where else should I be looking at for a decent tuxedo that is hopefully $1000 or less?
I thought I would buy one and make it mine instead of renting an ill fitting one

I highly recommend Kent Wang. They do an excellent made-to-measure program that comes in around $700-$1000 for a 2-piece, and you're choosing your fabric and design options. Quality is superb, and you've got the lead time. www.kentwang.com

I wouldn't trust MtM, especially MtM that isn't fully local. Where do you live? Presumably there's a local haberdashery that will be more than adequate.

Just tell Aaron that Dylan Sauerwald sent you and he'll give you the referral discount. Noted about risks of mtm, but these guys really know what they're doing.

Ok gents, I'll be in morning dress for my wedding and color wise, I should come out very close to the below rig:

I'm trying to find the right tie however, and what Prince Charles is pictured in below my fiancee and I have both agreed fits the wedding tie color scheme - her liking silver, and me trying to stick to the pattern guidelines and avoid a shiny silver tie.

The pattern almost looks like fish scales, in terms of the closeness as opposed to a geometric or neat design. What would I call the pattern so I can try to source a tie? I haven't seen anything like it at the usual suspects - hober, wu, KW..

    Thanks!

You don't feel like that is a lot of/too much similar silver/grey in the outfit?

Partially, but the other recommended wedding ties I've seen (glen check, houndstooth, etc) all seem to be in the same color palette and equally monochromatic for the overall fit. I'm open to suggestions for more contrast because like you said, it's all very grey.

Just curious, what is wrong with the tie in the first pic?

I know you said that your fiancé likes silver. There seems to be loads of it in various hues/shades already. Charles' tie up against that vest up against that coat just washes everything out. There is no contrast at all IMO. It would be a very psychedelic grey look to me.

Blue isn't one of the wedding colors otherwise, I'd just go that route. She likes silver or white for the groom. The wedding colors are cranberry with gold as the accent color. Groomsmen will have cranberry ties, I am trying to find the balance between being different as the groom, but also following the traditional wedding tie rules. And I'm striking out, which is why I'm here

    Perhaps this Budd tie
    or this Drake's tie
or this from Ede and Ravenscroft

Contrary to ter I would suggest that silver is the quintessential colour tie to wear with a morning coat. Though unlike Charles I would wear a plain white handkerchief in my pocket

Silver is a great color. That Charles' tie is/looks like a bad match and not silver. It would just look off IMO.

I also feel that too many shades of grey/silver can be too much.

I agree on the pocketsquare, @culverwood, mine will be white linen with a straight fold. I think even silver will be too much grey in my outfit, something like the Drake's tie could work, though it's listed as grey and looks more like a flat gold?

I'm pretty well sold on a white shirt as opposed to a winchester, so trying to find the right level of contrast with everything else is where I'm stuck.
