My Talarico arrived today. Dark blue navy with mini polka dots and lemon wood. This feels really sturdy and a bit heavy. My only regret is it a looks a little phallic.

I need an opinion - if I'm just going to own one umbrella, what would be the most versatile color? I'm thinking of finally picking one up from Fox

Depends on who you are - I opted for the colour called Kingfisher from Ince, which is a very cheerful blue that tends to chase the clouds away. Most would go for black, followed by navy.

Hello gentlemen. Today my Heurtault has arrived. It's ******* beautiful! Excusez mon français.
I'd like to say that the packaging was impeccable. It came in a box with bubble wrap inside and then another box, and then a paper wrap as if it were the pharaoh, then finally a silk sheath and umbrella inside. There was a piece of paper where the metal tips touch the wood as to prevent an unsightly imprint.

I just spent 10 minutes just admiring this piece. The opening action is is the best I've seen. It's smooth and stops exactly when the runner goes past the top spring. Talarico on the other hand has a little room for the runner to go past the spring and it gets caught on the way down. The metal tips are all uniform when folded. Talarico on the other may seem bent at times. It will be raining tomorrow and I shall enjoy this in the rain.

In a futile attempt to cover up the phallic handle with wax, (as suggested earlier in the thread) I’d like to report the comical result. I’ve since removed the wax with toothpick and resigned to the phallus. I still have a bespoke Maglia on the way, hopefully with a better result
