According to this it can be open or closed. The main things a melt needs is melted cheese plus one additional filling usually a meat.

Yes but the sandwich was dipped :wow: we can’t just go around completely changing meanings of words on a whimsy. If it’s dipped, it’s a dip:nodding: or maybe in this case it’s Una Torta Dip:eh:

2 condiments for the “burger bar”… sauteed mushrooms and bacon/onion/bourbon jam.

My inlaws have these (and now that I see them and the price I might get then) and they seem pretty durable.

Okay, I created something new and wonderful today. If this becomes a thing, remember ol' Piob invented it.

Thick cut, brioche bread. Kerrygold Irish butter. Homemade birria de rez. Oaxaca cheese, shredded. Consommé from the birria braising liquid.

Grilled cheese birria de rez sandwich dipped in consommé.

This is da shizznit.
Would love a good pic on this one!

I hate baking recipes that include flour for rolling/dusting in the amounts. Give me the flour to water ratio! I'll figure out how much I need to dust my work surface without measuring, thank you.

NYT recipes are terrible for that.

My sons have made a last minute request for alla vodka sauce for their joint birthday party tomorrow. We had planned and are having a large grill session with family tomorrow (shrimp cocktail, lamb chops, strip steaks, hot dogs, cedar planked salmon, grilled vegetables, etc). I should have said no, but they asked so nicely so, here we are…

I lost a half-tablespoon one to the disposal last week. I bought a metal set that came with one as that was the only one we had in that size.

Everything there is homemade. Chicken shawarma, hummus, naan, yogurt sauce.

Good haul of tomatoes from the garden today. I'm thinking salsa and tomato and bacon jam.

Ground equal portions of chuck and pork butt, mixed with eggs, ricotta I made this morning, bread crumbs I made, diced parsley, and various spices. Have nice sized meatballs freezing on sheet trays. :)

Next weekend having folks over and I plan to make an "weekday" red sauce for some good pasta and meatballs.

Got the wok hay going.

Onions, shitake mushrooms, ground pork, napa cabbage, garlic, and then a yaki udon sauce (use dark shoyu.)
