First attempt at Detroit style was successful, but I definitely have room for improvement. The sauce needed more salt (maybe I’ll add grated Parmesan to the next batch). The outer crust was a bit pale because I didn’t put my oven to the 550 Kenji called for, I’m an idiot who can’t read and only set it to 500. The bottom of the crust was a nice golden, caramelized color with a good bite. Next time I’ll be more precise with my dough stretching and stuffing cheese along the outside border.

My wife’s favorite topping is pineapple and I know that’s controversial, but I do what makes her happy.

If my wife's favorite pizza topping was pineapple, I'd divorce her.

End result from what I did with the Sicilian lemons I found a while back. Two liter of limoncello. Used two methods to see what works better, the left clearer/darker bottle was made with peels. The right, lighter but cloudier one was made with zest.

The small pot was leftover, which my wife duly claimed. “Is that leftover? Leave it in that little pot, refrigerate and bring it with a straw please.”

Mother’s Day breakfast for my wife.

Pumpkin Waffles (made with 2/3rds of a can of beer), free range eggs fried in bacon fat, and local bacon (Tenderbelly).
