Would recommend people check out NYCWFF cooking classes. Did one with Josh Capon of Lure in NYC and Burger and Barrel, was a fun experience. Nothing earth shattering, but a fun unique way to make a meal and pick up a few tips along the way. Doing another class on Chicken Schnitzel.

I successfully improved a chicken and lentil soup tonight. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was good. Coming to the realization that basically anything turns out "good" if you cook & season well.

I've attempted some baking for the first time in my amateur cooking career over the last couple weekends. Two weeks ago I tried a blueberry pie and although it tasted good, the crust came out pretty unattractive. Last weekend was blackberry pie and I'm reasonably pleased with this result.

Working through the regions, last night was Greek(ish), homemade hummus and chicken kebabs. Day before was ribollita Both turned out very well and somewhat authentic.

I love hummus but it doesn't love me. :(

Experimenting with the sear burner, cooked the kebabs slowly then crisped over the sear. I loved the hummus, was more worried about getting the chicken fully. I always struggle with that.
