Yeah, that's why it is only for special occasions. Otherwise I only have unsalted on hand.i only buy unsalted butter. If i want salt on it for bread i sprinkle it with salt.
I do feel like when you spread softened butter, having the salt in the butter makes a difference vs sprinkling. Sure, I should mash it up before spreading, but that's not as easy as having a dish with salted butter on the table.
