It's currently free on Kindle Unlimited, so looks like I have another entry on my "to read" list.

I read "Parable of the Sower" (about post-apoc climate catastrophe and the US getting taken over by a charismatic dictator) last summer and it was a little too real for the moment. Also didn't help that the book's setting literally starts the same week that I started reading it.
I have read a lot of Octavia Butler over the years. I'm a fan.

I had a class in college, Topics in Literature: Science Fiction, or something like that, and the professor was a huge Butler fan, so she assigned us a couple of things to read. I didn't get into it, but that might be partially because I was only about 19 and an immature idiot.

Now, at least I'm a fully grown idiot, so I should give her work another try.

I think I was about the same age, in a similar class, when I first read something by her as well. I remember thinking "this isn't sci-fi--where's the spaceships and lasers?" or some equally ignorant thing. But once I got past that I really enjoyed the book and then wound up reading a bunch of other Butler books. I tend to binge on an author--if I like one book, I will read like half a dozen more before moving on to something else.

Cap America Brave New World is getting panned. I never thought it looked that interesting TBH.

Yeah, I definitely do the same. That's why I'm on my fourth Edgar Rice Burroughs book. I'm starting to burn out on him a bit, though.

From the commercials I can't tell what it's supposed to be about, aside from Red Hulk. And I already gave my opinion on Anthony Mackie, so add in some bad reviews and this a definite wait to watch on D+.

Plus Falcon is lame AF and just giving him the shield without the PED's isn't any fun. Imagine watching the NFL with players without PED's. Might as well watch middle school kids play.

We went to see the Led Zeppelin movie last night at the local IMAX theater and they had a trailer for Captain America before the show. We all just kind of looked at each other and shrugged. Nobody had any interest in seeing it.

Fantastic Four is the only MCU movie I’m excited about this year. That’s a day one for me.

Haven’t seen any Superman stuff in a while. Are they focusing on the lawsuits in the EU?

There's a Fantastic For movie coming out? I didn't know that. Kinda would've expected you to post a trailer or something...
I know right!? Given how Mouse never talks about F4, you'd think it was some minor B team characters for Marvel.
