Good. Let 007 hibernate for a decade or so.

I’m ok with a new reboot but it needs to have a different tone than Daniel Craig's run. I'd return to the slightly goofy stuff from the past. Don't focus so hard on making it "gritty and realistic." Even consider going slightly sci-fi.

The series needs to always be treated like Doctor Who. Fresh takes each run. Experiment with what works.

Austin Powers basically ruined the Sean Connery one-liners. I like it gritty but am all for focusing on 007 as the position somewhat inline with your Dr. Who analogy. "James Bond" could be just a cover name and move different actors through it.

Finally saw Dune 2 and really loved it. Villaneuve is a fantastic Director with great vision like Nolan. Stellar cast of course and Hans Zimmer is always fantastic.

New stories, but continue the serious.

If changes are to be made to the status quo, I'd like an R rating.

People will just compare it to Craig’s run. It doesn’t have to go goofy, but do something new. Maybe Mission Impossible meets 007 in tone. That could work and feel fresh.

I'm just spitballing here but what if they went hyper-stylized like the John Wick films?

The main point is it needs to feel different. It can’t be just Craig’s run with a younger actor.

Still needs to be suave, cultured, and very well dressed. John Wick racks up too high a body count and is basically just a Ronin whacking mobsters. Better to shift to lower-key spy stories and avoid some of the impossible stunts and weird gadgets.

Old school spy thriller. Focus on the fact that he’s a spy. Less big action scenes. I’d be fine with that. It would be a fresh take which is all I’m asking for here. :)

I remember liking For Your Eyes Only as a kid as they dispensed with the special effects laden extravaganzas of the Soy Who Loved Me and Moonraker and toned it down a bit.

I didn't watch the last bond movie , the Billie eilish one . did it involve SMERSH or Hydra or whatever ?

I loved the Connery movies and the first Daniel Craig one . I do not love the archnemesis idea but will admit the original blofeld was a cool villain . fwiw I also think the moriarty character was a stupid conceit , along with the smoking man / pregnant Scully stuff on x-files . but the crypto archnemesis thing sucks with the sole exception of Dr evil .

I more enjoy the creature feature adventure aspect which is what makes the mini movies that precede for instance goldfinger ( the tux under the drysuit ) and the black and white prologue of casino royale so on-brand .

anyways give me 15 minutes i'll write the next 007 story and cast the part . brb .

Billion-dollar movie concept. 007 vs Predator.

Lets ******* go!
