That whole cast was great. Hope they keep the style and don't polish it up too much. They did a good job with him in She-Hulk, so I have hope.

Kevin Hart and Jamie Lee Curtis were enough to keep me away, and late stage Cate Blanchett seems incapable of saying no to any script thrown her way these days.

tar was unbelievably good

I adore Jamie Lee Curtis. Kevin Hart is hit or miss.

Alien Romulus has mostly positive reviews. The biggest criticism I can see is they “remix the first two movies.” Which I assumed everyone knew going into it and isn't a bad thing. That's how they marketed the film. A return to horror with some sci-fi action.

So yes I'm in.

Good lord I loved both so much, although the original is better, that I'm in.

It could be decent although it seems like another movie where the audience knows almost everything and the cast takes forever to figure out they’re in a horror movie.

it's the greatest part of the Ripley character , she goes from being largely unfeatured to getting it objectively right ( ash breaks quarantine in spite of her command getting the action started in the first movie ) and then she is basically the audience's avatar in the second .

Yeah, but it’s kinda like watching another remake of Superman’s or Batman’s origin story. Been there. Hopefully this movie gets to the crew’s realization of the Aliens fast.

I’ll still watch it. Saw the original in the theaters back in the days when it was easy to buy tix for the PG flicks then wander into the R movie.

I think I mentioned it in this thread, but I got my 13 year old daughter to watch Alien recently. When it was over, she said, "This entire thing could've been avoided if they'd just followed protocol like Ripley told them to."

That more or less summarizes the first two movies, actually.

i've been a vintage film Sherpa to my 9 year old kiddo as well . it's very interesting to have to filter my picks b/c he of course has modern films to choose from and of course we both only have so much time for that stuff ...

we watched the first movie earlier this summer , he fell asleep like 3 times lol until it got real and then we watched the second half through . I've told this story before but I got him into horror movies this way and it was amazingly effective : I told him a story about two fictitious friends who decide to make a million dollars by giving people a good healthy scare with a movie called People Sandwich . so he's totally into the ride lmao he likes a good story .

***

I got him to start the second one tonite ! I think James Cameron is an idea savant honestly . jam packed , we are pausing it right before the action starts .

I slightly prefer Aliens. Both are classics that hold up extremely well.
