Can someone explain what the big deal is about the Justice League 'Snyder cut'?

It's supposed to make the movie good. The math is very sketchy.

It was rumored for years that something happened between Charisma and Joss. It was believed there was bad blood between them due to her getting pregnant during season 4 of Angel, but no one ever knew the details.

This sounds far worse then was ever rumored. It’s disheartening and unfortunate that those affected kept it all bottled up inside for so long.

Buffy has made countless lists for being on of the greatest and most influential TV shows of all time. Angel and Firefly were amazing in their own rights. That won’t change, but it’s sad to see this all come to light.

I've been hearing about accusations against Joss for a long time, and Marilyn Manson. Were there recent developments/accusations/confirmations, or did people just get around to noticing them.

Charisma came out and unloaded all these accusations against Joss and all of the castmates are supporting her. Leads me to believe that Joss is most likely guilty of everything Charisma said.

Snyder was the original director for the movie and had a different vision for the movie. He had to leave midway through shooting for whatever reason and Joss came in and took over. He changed quite a bit of the movie to the pile of shit we all got to see. Supposedly the original Snyder cut was much better and more coherent.

I mean you could read Charisma and the other's tweets and the specific accusations being made here. They go well beyond anything that was rumored over the years.

That's my understanding, just rearraigning scenes and adding cut footage.

Seems like things really kicked off when the dude who played Cyborg in Justice League said Whedon was a shitty person, probably while discussing the upcoming Snyder Cut of Justice League, though I'm not sure. Then Gal Gadot, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Charisma Carpenter, Michelle Trachtenberg, Amber Benson, Eliza Dushku, and a few others I'm probably forgetting all agreed with him. Somewhere in there he got booted from his new show, The Nevers.

At this point, it seems pretty clear he was, at the least, emotional abusive to a lot of people over several years. Which is unfortunate, as I love his shows. Except for Dollhouse. That suuuuucked.

Not trying to defend Whedon but as far as I know, Joss leaving The Nevers had nothing to do with these accusations.

Sure HBO could be it up, but I don't really see why they would bother.

Whedon had long parted ways with the DCEU by the time Ray Fisher was let go.

Interesting concept, generally poor execution. Dushku just isn't a good actor and I never got a chubby from her, so that didn't make up for it. The season finales were pretty damn good, though.

I don't think Joss was the right director to bring in to fix it, but JLA was HEAVILY rumored to be a mess when Snyder left. All indications were that WB was panicking over it and wanted to bring in someone else to rework as much of the movie as possible before release.

The problem is that Joss' tone and directing style heavily clashes with Snyder's. They might as well have started from scratch if they wanted JL to feel more like one of Whedon's films. I didn't find JL to be a disaster, but the final result was certainly messy.

Personally, I don't get the whole Snyder Cut thing. It's not like his DC films were huge critical and box office successes for WB over the years. Why pump all this time and money into what is shaping up to be an ego project? The runtime of the project alone is enough to make me skeptical of the finished product. Four hours...!
