Damn, I had one of those. Never again. Remember picking lint out of the rollers. Hah. Mechanical mice in general were terrible, but especially trackballs.

I played MW4 and MW4:Mercs with mouse and keyboard, and that worked well. Some friends of mine played with a joystick, but without the z-axis it was tough. I played WAY too much of those games, literally thousands of hours.

Back then our entire IT section was in a single floor. All it took was for 1 person to say "I feel like blasting someone" and the lights would get shut off and everyone would get in on a multiplayer game, including the bosses. That was a fun job for a while

I disagree, I think it's both. Both my and my fiancee enjoy and she didn't even know who Bobba Fett was but loves Baby Yoda. They made everybody happy with Mando- and that's what you see online, we could nitpick some stuff with the plot development etc, but overall it's a solid show for both old guard and new fans.

random asshole on twitter wrote:
Mandalorian is a hit not because of "lore" and references

yes it is a hit because of exactly that, not even the hardcore fanboys criticize it like they had the new trilogy(and rightfully so because NT is terrible)

often old fans bring new audiences to the show, in fact I introduced 3 ppl to this show myself - guess what I wouldn't advertise it both here and in real life if it was Rian Johnson level garbage

Secondly the show caters to new viewers because it is simple and also people, especially women love Baby Yoda. So it's two things not one.

It's clear as a day twitter asshole tried to make a point that fans don't matter and that old starwars fans are toxic ect ect. He says Mandalorian's success is not due to the stuff that excites them(lore/easter eggs), but heh it largely is :)

This is how you make Star Wars, you respect the old stuff and lore and still make it exciting to new fans. Favrou gets it. The guy from Twitter doesn't get it and it seems you do not get it either.

Ok, since Disney is amped to make as many SW shows as possible, here's my pitch for picking up the Young Adult demographic:

Gossip Girl in Space.

Shonda Rhimes currently has a critical smash with her Regency Era Gossip Girl (Bridgerton) so I think Disney needs to strike while the iron is hot.

Start it out about 18 years after ROTJ. Someone has figured out how to send anonymous HoloNet communications within the Jedi Academy and they are using that ability to expose the secrets and love affairs of their fellow students. Drama ensues. There are tensions between orphaned scholarship students and the near-celebrity students with close ties to the administration. There's this weird green kid who can't hold a conversation but beats everyone on their exams. There are scandalous force-assisted lovemaking scenes.

Of course we all know the series will end with a "very special episode" about the horrors of school shootings as a misunderstood student disappoints the headmaster and then goes on a killing spree....but its about the journey, not the destination!

Rewatching the last season of Star Wars: Rebels again with my son, and it's really far better than most things that have been done with the Star Wars universe.
