I’m mostly commenting on the narrative that the franchise has been a failure under her leadership. Profits say otherwise. You can argue that the D+ stuff hasn’t been a huge revenue generator but that is an issue with streaming services in general.

I continue to take the stance that as any franchise grows there will be stuff that's not for me. I ignore those products and wait for content in my wheelhouse.

I keep making an analogy to comics but they are a perfect example. You will never be happy with all of it.

Just because it was profitable doesn't mean she was successful. SW used to have a huge rabid fan base and now a lot of fans just don't give a sh1t anymore. Whether that's terrible stories, "go woke go broke", or too much content she's turned the SW franchise into an afterthought.

Depends? I mean if it’s still making bank for Disney it’s hard to argue that fans aren’t buying tickets.

I do think there has been a shift in the fanbase that I’ve explained before. But the hatred seems to be a mostly “terminally online fanboi” thing.

For everyone complaining there are plenty of kids who love the new content like Grogu. Like I keep saying it's bringing in a next generation of fans.

Any fictional entity gets disorganized and inconsistent if it lasts long enough, even when it's a single person existing more or less in the "real world", like Sherlock Holmes or James Bond. So I'm not bothered by what is and isn't canon. I just want good stories. Folks need to get less obsessive about that sort of thing. Mostly, I haven't been getting that from SW over the past several years. I'm not angry about it, but I'd happily watch something new if it's well done.

I lean more on the side that Kennedy has had her chance and struck out. Reducing the star wars franchise to the state that there hasn't been a movie in more than 4 years after all those grand ambitions of movie a year (including the list of movies shes announced and failed to get off the ground) and a TV slate that consists of more misfires than successes along with the massive failure of the latest Indiana Jones movie points a pretty clear case of franchise mismanagement that cant be fobbed off on "Oh its just a few angry online fans"

I agree with some of the above comments that Filoni seems to focused on the minutiae in the lore to be a steward of the franchise for the general public. I would like to see Favreau given more authority. He seems to have the fan and general public chops in a good balance.

She's 71. I’m expecting her to retire in the next few years. On her own terms as she's had a long and successful career in the industry.

Ripley would totally smash the Emperor.

If they don’t meet we riot.

Kinda bored and need a game post-BG3.

I need to finish BG3 but it’s hard for me to sit down and invest the time needed for that kind of game anymore.
