1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

Have to keep myself in check considering The Phantom Menace teaser was just about the best thing I had ever seen when it was released 16 years ago.

But damn JJ, I nearly lost it watching that.

It looks far better than I thought it could. That said, you can make a good trailer out of a truly shitty movie.

JJ is going to knock this out of the park. I honestly believe this film is going to be gold. Too much riding on it. They need this to reboot a lot of dishearted fans love for what amounts to a franchise they spent billions on.

Absolutely everything about the trailer looks better, more inspired, and more like Star Wars than anything about the Eps I-III trilogy.

it wasn't perfect, but LOST was a great show.

The first of the Star Treck reboots is really good fun. The 2nd wasn't horrible but largely fell apart in the last act.

Look. The biggest criticism you'll see from the intended contrarians will be the new Star Wars movie wil play off and using too much of nostalgia. Which to me is not a critique. In general nostalgia is good when used correctly in a way that brings back memories of why you fell in love with a movie franchise in the first place.

Star Wars should not be a vehicle for untraditional story plot points. It's classic pulp themes through and through. And it shouldn't deviate from that

Nostalgia's not the problem, it's that that'll be all there is. Nothing fresh or original or risky, just a polished (looking) action movie rehashing all the popular Star Wars tropes.

I'm glad you can summarize that from a trailer that's less then two minutes long. Must be a gift. Can you predict drops in the stock market too? Let's talk.

Should I que up the sad violin music while you try and make a point that people going into to this with a positive and open mind is somehow equivalent?
