There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Another young, raw heroine being thrown into something larger than her history would suggest. Haven't seen that plot anywhere before.

Something tells me you have seen that plot far, far less than a young, raw hero being thrown into something larger than his history would suggest.

Neither of them looked like bothans.

I mean...I don't know what bothans look like, but I don't picture them looking like those two normal looking humans.

Turns out that Botha (Both?) is just a suburb on Corsuscant.

I know in the EU they are an alien race. Not sure if that's canon or not now.

It doesn't really matter either way. Wasn't the line that many Bothans died bringing the plans? They could be just one part of the raid and overall plan. Doesn't mean Bothans were the only players involved.

The Bothans were the ones who got the plans for the second death star. Duh.

The first death star plans were stolen by unnamed spies after the rebels won some kind of battle before the first movie starts.

ETA: not after -- "during" according to the opening crawl.

TFA
Hunger Games
Divergent Series
... etc.

Hollywood vamping up its anti-sexism to make up for generations of oppression, no doubt.

Don't get me wrong, I will see this movie multiple times in theaters. Let's just be real.

Ah, yes, I remember this from the Thrawn books. They're a race of cat monsters known for being diplomats and spies, notable for the way their fur somehow telegraphs exactly how they're feeling at the moment -- a very useful trait for diplomats or spies.

One of the little details that makes me embarrassed to say I read those books.

In memory of the Star Wars "extended universe":

Spoiler: it's just two guys reading a Wikipedia page about Darth Vader's suit in the "EU" and making fun of it. But it's really, really ridiculous.

So....Now that we have this new movie, are most of the star wars books invalid/not canon anymore?

the disney purchase a few years ago de-cannonized pretty much everything except the OT, the prequels, and the various cartoons and comics that came out after the prequels.

Yes, but:
I assume that, better than anything else, the healthy-at-any-size spaceship mechanic has a positive body image delivers her lines with real moxie.

Felicity Jones is a decent enough actor. It's got potential, and whilst it ties into the original film we don't know how derivative the plot is going to be (although I confess I can't remember the last time I saw a space opera that wasn't a little derivative - it seems to come with the genre).

The new books are a mixed bag. One of them, I can't remember which at the moment, is really poor IMO. The best books were the Thrawn trilogy, and I was hoping the movies were going to be a movie adaptation on that. How cool would it have been if the bad guys didn't obsess over super weapons and instead had a cohesive strategy that focused on more than brute force?
