1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Yeah I figured Theory made some decent basics etc, but I had no idea that they were making things for $1000+ retail.

Some further drops at East Dane - picked up a couple pairs of Mr Hare shoes at 60% off (was 40% off before earlier today). Some items' prices haven't moved though.

This has been my experience as well. They have some really simple, flattering designs, and I've been very happy with the couple unsold pieces I've managed to find in thrift stores (original retail: $1,000 :foo: )

Moving on, someone save me some dollars and tell me when the next sales period starts. Please. I feel I'm in danger of making a tiny huge mistake.

The funny thing is that people hate on Theory for being just boring basics, but when it comes time to personal purchasing, a lot of guys eschew anything interesting for things like White Common Projects, which are about as blandly stylish as you get.

Incidentally, I feel that this is a good argument against the "minimalist" wardrboe, which had its heyday in the 90s (Donna Karan's 7 pieces, Puma's 96 Hours with Neil Barrett), but is still a concept that has appeal, especially for men. If you limit yourself to the minimal wardrobe, everything has to necessarily be versatile and modular. There is no room for those cool designs that are limited in scope.

^ I like the designs and overall aesthetic, but more than any other brand they compromise on fabric, trim and overall quality to increase their margins. In their price range you can always do better on those three things. I am particularly unimpressed by their suiting and knits.

I don't think ppl care enough about Theory to hate it, it's just another bland label in a sea of mid-tier dullness. The confusion between Theory's Helmut Lang and Helmut Lang's Helmut Lang can be mildly annoying.

The thing about Theory is that I don't really have an opinion on Theory.

I don't like what they did to rag & bone. Still have some older R&B pieces and am salty. Other than that they are unobjectionable.

Thank you for this. I've been eyeing the site almost daily for new additions and have been just missing out on great deals in my sizes. Well, finally I've managed to kop something, even if I missed the best items. Bought a few J.CREW sweaters and a pair of shorts from the same maker for ridiculously cheap. Hopefully they fit, just took my usual size and checked out as fast as I can. Stuff was moving so fast...
