I'm not an expert on CP, but I'm pretty sure it's just a different pattern. More folks likely prefer the appearance of the Achilles.

^Pattern? lol Its a completely different shoe, tournament is usually canvas, or suede and unlined about as thin as converse shoes, and achilles are full leather and padded.

I assumed he was comparing apples to apples, so a leather tournament versus a leather achilles, though it may be that all of the all-leather tournaments I've seen are for women.

No they make leather Tourneys all the time, and always have. einstine just really likes being a prick.

They are generally more simply constructed and don't have paneling or contrast material patches or anything and like he said, usually thinner.
There's nothing bad or wrong about them.

To the best of my knowledge, plain black/white Achilles just don't go on sale as much because they are non-seasonal

CP Achilles reminds me of nothing but feet soreness. If you have wide feet, just stay away from those. Sizing up wont help. Buttero is a better alternative imo. The leather on the recent CPs Achilles feels cheap. Its unlike those that came out a few years back.

I've worn my white leather tournament lows frequently for a few years. They still look great. YMMV.

A pair of Butteros I got recently are the most painful pair of new shoes I've ever had.
They rubbed my ankle raw the first time I wore them. I wore them all day but it's not like I do a lot of walking at the office.
    They look good though.

Much prefer the tourneys I've owned to the achilles.

    I se

I second this. I have a collection of the Achilles in the classic colours and I almost never wear them..mainly because I feel like I have other more comfortable sneakers I would rather reach for. I may have to let them go, but I keep them because they are the most aesthetically pleasing sneakers in a minimalist way.

If they make your feet hurt, you obviously have the wrong size or your feet are too wide. They fit me like a glove. Leather is hit or miss depending.

If your shoes are giving you calluses they probably aren't fitting right....

Yeah I've got a pair of the tournament high off-white (suede x fabric) and they feel and look awesome, as expected, when clean or beat to shit.
