I just received a voicemail from Fedex asking me for my email address so they can send me forms for clearance on a package from Wrong Weather. This seems like the first step to paying customs but it sounds like my jawnz aren't moving till I call them. :fu:

Yeah you're screwed. For those of you trying to not pay customs, prepare to have a collection agency on your ass. I forgot to pay a $40 fine one time and started getting mail from some debt collection agency threatening legal action if I didn't pay my fine :fu:

I think you can mess up your credit score if you try to dodge customs bills, too. An outstanding debt is an outstanding debt as far as Equifax, Experian, and Transunion are concerned.

I had this happen once with UPS (I believe the order was from Brigade in the US to Canada). I wasn't home when the delivery person came by, but my girlfriend received the package and *paid* the $60 in service fees with her credit card (on a $180 shirt, no less!). Several months later I started receiving letters from a collection agency, which I respectfully responded to via email, letting them know that my girlfriend had actually paid the fees upon receipt of the package. However, after further investigation, something must have gone wrong with processing the credit card, as it was never actually charged and my girlfriend didn't notice. I explained this to the collection agency, saying that it was really UPS's fault they didn't get paid, to which they responded, "Well it was nice of the delivery person to still give you the package but you're still obligated to pay the fee". I asked if there was REALLY anything they could do about it and never heard back from them again. It's been almost 2 years now and I haven't received further notice whatsoever.

i was going to go with sportsquilt, not flyweight, that what you got?

I think I have the flyweight, but can't really tell.

I don't think my jacket is lined on the inside, but it definitely isn't a contrast color like they are showing on the website. Unfortunately, I've never seen the flyweight and the sportsquilt side by side.

I don't think that the tags indicate, but I can check when I'm home.

flyweight looks to just have contrast options and polyamide construction instead of polyester, something you'd have to hold to get the difference, probably going with the heavier of the two, same cut tho

END.s prices are the best i've seen for some barbour items, not that im a connoisseur.

BTW, if anybody wants to take advantage of the Acrimony flash sale I have a large credit that I would be willing to sell for $.95 on the dollar.

I had the same thing happen to me a few years back on a $750 pair of shoes, but never had to pay anything. I've actually never had to pay any custom fees and I order overseas a crap ton, I might just be lucky

wait just a tick, you paid $360 for a T-Shirt??

I HAD to. I don´t mind it so much, because there´s no other way of getting the clothes I want where I live. And I´m not just talking about my city or country, it´s impossible in pretty much the whole sub-continent. So that just leaves online purchases and getting screwed over by customs

thats brutal. have you considered finding a proxy on SF? may be a cheaper way, esp if you're getting hammered with customs fees like that.
