One of items I ordered off Mr. Porter has subsequently dropped in price, and it hasn't even shipped yet! Anyone know the procedure to get a partial refund?

Just tried this last night - same situation PLUS what I ordered was a new arrival, on the site for less than a week, and then inexplicably added to the sale for 50% off...

They refused. Even after I pointed out how unusual it is to immediately clear out a new arrival and that they havent even shipped yet. No budging. So I just asked them to cancel and Ill hope to catch the restock. User dkboze said it should appear back in stock in ~1hr but that didnt happen for me, or I missed it.

FYI, Mr. Porter is back online; I just placed my order successfully (card charged, email receipt received, stock updated online) without waiting for them to call me.

How does Mr.P **** everything up so badly every single season when they've had nine years to prepare and improve?

Their website is completely down (Unable to locate the server requested --- the server does not have a DNS entry), and if you try to reach them by phone, prepare to be subjected to 15 seconds of an annoying whistling pop song on infinite loop.

EDIT: at least they finally have a custom 404 page up. "Sorry for the inconvenience," you will be told on arrival.

Honestly, this is the first season that I can remember that their website went down.

There's always the inexplicable first sale launches - some items display on sale but the cart price doesn't reflect, sale links pointing to really odd places, secret sale links that only work if you have the URL but aren't actually linked out anywhere.

This was just a pretty long post to say...I find Mr. P has much better web experience than 90% of other stores...

During last year's sale, I called and told them that an item I ordered had been further reduced. The item had shipped, but had not yet arrived. They refunded me the price difference. Worth a shot, I think.

Wow, now that really annoys me. Inconsistent service is such a pain... I had a feeling in the back of my head I should have just tried calling back later. Well, glad it worked out for you.

I feel you mate, inconsistencies like this annoy me. It's just too unpredictable, what you want is predictably good service. But even predictively bad service is fine because at least you don't feel shafted or unlucky then.

Regarding vat, I tried purchasing something from a brand boutique in Paris and their reason for not deducting vat is that it need to purchase in store in order to do so (if it helps to clear some doubt). Liberty collection on dries is pretty good when compared to other retailers as well as the price

These geographic sales restrictions are getting tiresome since the number of US stockists for some of these brands is dwindling.
