how is the london sales situation early January?
I'll be in town from the 4th 'til the 8th and was wondering what are instore sales like.

I'm eyeing some Jil Sander shoes I'm hoping they'll have in the store mostly, but am interested in Dover Street Market and smaller shops as well.
I'm just scared it'll be a desert by the time I get there, or not?

Also, generally, what are some good stores to visit in London? I've been mostly into Engineered Garments recently, so I would love to get similar workwear etc.

I like Billy Reid as well however I have found their sizing and cuts to be all over the place. Also as a heads up to fellow Canadians, they switched from Fedex to DHL for Canadian shipping which means no more free shipping, a giant pain in the ass to get to a distribution center and ridiculous brokerage fees. I think a $125 package had a $30-40 brokerage plus duties. On some of their product pages on their webstore they're blatantly listing the wrong "made in" country, I sent them an e-mail but they didn't bother to get back to me or change it. I'm just going to give up on them as a brand, disappointing as I really liked some of their stuff.

I've been searching the sales for a duffle too. Which one are you after?

Funny, I think a warm wool coat is the only thing lacking in my closet. The Raf and PS toggles look great, but they are out in my size.

How do Gloveralls hold up over time? Do they start to pill?

I've got a short Gloverall and yes there is some slight pilling, but it's very slight - any traditional duffle fabric will pill to a degree... the 80-20 blends resist pilling better than pure wool from what I understand.

final. buy now. i just bought a bunch of stuff.

it will be gone if you wait. ln-cc pricing cannot really get much better ... unless you expect them to give you stuff, which they do if you spend enough $ with them.
