FYI- I ordered a pair when they first came out, and they're horrible, horrible quality.

Yeah I was going to say, what the hell is the "vintage shoe company"? I found their website and it's all we are a reputable maker since 18-dickity-three but I've never heard of them.

That's a damn shame, because I really need a casual brogue for when I wear jeans and a blazer...What do you recommend?

Just that I understand this correctly: If a item on the site is marked down by 50%, I will get an additional 30% later, when i pay it or what? So that it makes an 80% discount?

No, you get 30% off whatever the marked off price is. You don't add the percents.

kinda. it's first markdown x 30%. so something 50% off is 65% off. **** is cheap.

on the "cart" page it won't show, but it will at "checkout"

Mr.Porter extra 30% off all sale merch. Discount applied at checkout.

http://www.mrporter.com/Shop/Sale

I placed my first order with Mr. Porter. I've been not impressed with their inflated full retail prices. I'm still bothered that they do not remove VAT (shipping from UK to Switzerland which is not in EU), I enquired and received an email about their DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) policy.
So I paid 40 euros shipping + 25 euros duties and taxes, but can't complain much about 300 euros in the end instead of 1224 euros for this Yves Saint Laurent safary / utility jacket.
