Is Peal & Co still C&J? I know BB seems to have transitioned away from Alden recently.
AFAIK Peal & Co shell is currently all C&J. They have also used Loake and Alfred Sargent for Peal branded calf and suede shoes in recent years. The Loake shoes were typically priced a bit lower. The AS shoes usually use a slightly different logo like this boot and are often closed channel soles, but it's sometimes tough to know for sure without looking at the markings inside. Most of the current Peal offerings are C&J though, and the shell shoes are a bargain. You are correct they have discontinued their Alden shell line, but these were never marked as Peal & Co as that designation was only for made in UK shoes. They now have some made in Italy shell too apparently, but I have no idea who makes those.
