I'm gonna be "that guy" and request some random help, sorry in advance.

I'm going on a hiking trip in two months and I don't really where non-dress shoes at all. I have some CP Achilles as my casual shoe but I don't think they are suitable for hiking... anyone know of any decent hiking boots on sale?

In the past they have not, and this morning they just sent out an email saying:

    "Final week
Until 21st January, enjoy 60% off* the Autumn-Winter 2017 Collection."

Which seems to suggest the same.

Good point, you can tell I'm a noob at this.

Probably 8-12 hours through California mountains, so mild temperatures.

I got a few very helpful PM's already.

Don't hike in CPs. Get proper boots.

Whatever boots you get, allow time to break them in before the trip. Otherwise you're looking at blisters galore. Even then, pack mole skin.

So the answer is, yes, but it really depends on the type of hiking you are doing. Is it on fairly flat terrain? Are you going to be hiking a long time? With a heavy pack? All those factor in what type of boots you want to wear. And really, after a long day hiking, make sure that you have brought along a pair of lightweight shoes (I prefer Vans slip ons on Nike Frees), that you can slip on, because you will want to get out of those boots ASAP.)

Here are some boots on sale: https://www.backcountry.com/bcs/sale/mens-footwear/bc-mens-footwear/cat.html?p=attr_activity:Hike\+\&\+Camp&nf=1

I would also advocate buying multiple pairs (different models) to try on. These are not like casual shoes. You are going to be in these for many days, putting a lot of stress on your feet. Small discomforts will feel excruciating a full day of walking.
