Just had a look at the J-Crew site. Last time I checked, a pair of Alden LWBs was $515 (i.e. around $485 aud). Now they are listed as $709 aud. So i'd basically be paying $224 for shipping. Complete joke.

Edit - Looks like they won't even ship Alden internationally.

I've had people balk when I've asked them to cover the fee for even less (just over a dollar)

Counterpoint: I fill my paypal account from ebay or other sales on which I typically pay fees.
Also, people who quibble about fees tend to be a bit of a pain to deal with.
Just my experience.

I know this is really difficult to follow, but stay with me.
I sell things on ebay. So I have to pay paypal fees on those sales.
If I also pay fees when I buy, I'm paying double fees just because you feel you shouldn't have to pay any.
That sucks.
