1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Aixois is right there too and would make a good meet up spot for drinks. If anyone hasn't been there, it's great. Eating lunch on their patio during spring is one of my two or three favorite dining experiences in KC.

I'd say wait until April perhaps? A little nicer weather.

Sounds good to me. We can do a tally when the time comes.

lc's stomps everything in town barbeque related
they have bars on the windows you know it's bomb

When they open the smoker and the whole place fills with the delightful smell of cooked flesh you know you're in heaven. I also really appreciate the fact they used to advertise that they cooked their fries in lard.

    Deliciousness!!!!

I went to Oklahoma Joe's the other day on my way home, definitely doesn't compare with LC's

I love me some OK Joe's but ever since Anthony Bourdain said it was one of the restaurants you had to eat at before you die you cannot get into the one on Mission Rd (the one in the gas station). I am not waiting in line for 45 minutes then waiting for a table to eat BBQ...I don't care how good it is. I just end up going to Arthur Bryants because it's less than a mile from my loft.

I tried going there when I was home for Christmas. I was driving back from the Plaza at 2:45 on a Tuesday and I was like "Oh. Right between lunch and dinner on a weekday. Perfect time to go." 90 minute wait. Line was out the door.

usually ok joe's is dead mid to late afternoon - people aren't out of work yet, but they aren't on lunch break either. oftentimes i can walk right in and get food immediately. calling in an order is also an underrated option if you're getting it to go.

as for hudson and jane, IIRC they used to be on the plaza right? and didn't they get their start as The Polo Store, before ralph started running company owned stores? I could be wrong. I always wanted to go into their store when it was on the plaza, but I was probably 19 then and always feel bad going in small shops when I can't afford a single thing in them. looks like a legt brand lineup though - with the complete collapse of jack henry it's too bad they aren't till on the plaza though, local menswear is in sad shape

don't get me wrong, OK Joe's is good BBQ. Each time I have been there, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I really don't think it is a place to make sure you go before you die though. Maybe a place a KC resident should go before they die...

I always wondered what happened to the Polo store on the Plaza. I remember feeling the fabric on a $1500 cashmere suit and thinking security was going to tackle me or something.

I remember when H & J closed and they had a 90% sale. I remembering seeing purple label SCs for 100 dollars. Too bad that store went down. Plaza is becoming the shit now since that Forever 21 store was brought in. The ironic thing is it's stuck between Halls and Tivol.

Wow how did I miss those deals [IMG] You can get some sick deals in this city thanks to the overall poor taste level.

Anyways....weather is getting nice again. Almost patio weather, almost.

I am on the Plaza right now and this place is such a wasteland. I would prefer people either go really sloppy or dress nice, not some half ass shit. I just saw three dudes in OCBDs tucked in denimz and wearing flip flops. [IMG]. Are people that lazy that they can't put on some shooz. Mainy, hit me up some time, we need to meet up.

Hey all. I'm in KC (Southmoreland, awesome neighborhood), so I thought I'd put my first post up on this thread here.

JhwkMac, that PadMapper link is gonna help me out a hell of a lot. I'm looking for a new place, and I wanted to stick around my current area, so... yeah. That site is gold.

So what are y'all's thoughts on where to buy threads in Kansas City? (If this has already been discussed in another thread, I apologize and I'll mend my ways.) I've been going to Pinstripes on the Plaza, mostly because they lured me in with a suit/shirt/tie deal. (The suit's not great, but that was at the beginning of my whole 'figuring out real clothes' thing. The tie is pretty righteous. I've gotten a couple of pairs of pants there, too, but the place is kind of pricey for my economic status.) I've also found a Savers, which is great, but they're way out in one of those burbs. I pretty much have to plan a whole afternoon trip if I want to go out there. So... where do you guys go for quality, classic clothes around here?

Re-perusing the thread, I see that Hall's has been mentioned. That's the place on the Plaza, right? I also saw BoO, but didn't see the name that it's shorthand for. Seems like most of the places mentioned have been closing down... [IMG]

Any of you dudes play golf? Think I'm gonna hit up Shoal Creek later this afternoon.
