I have mine hanging as well. In apartments I find getting things off the floor and onto walls makes it seem like you have so much more space. I didn't think mine had the integrity to hold either, but it has been there for a long time now with no problems. I put dowels in to strengthen.

PSG, thanks for the idea. I'll see how the room turns out and might use that idea. I need to accommodate a filing cabinet and two large bookcases so I'll see what sort of wall space I end up with.

I have something like this: http://www.amazon.com/XCG4-Tubular-...8&qid=1377715108&sr=8-1&keywords=guitar+stand
Might not be that exact model, but it looks pretty similar. I got it for free from my linear algebra professor when she was moving.

Its never dropped my guitar...which has been sitting on it for most of 5-6 years.

I've owned this style before. It is a typical 80's style. I replaced all of those with this style guitar stand. There is no neck support to catch when grabbing the instrument. They also fold to a more compact size.

You have to be careful with some of the rubber and such that they use on those stands and hooks. It is best to put a cloth between the guitar and the stands because it tarnishes nitro finishes pretty quickly.

I do occasionally have the strap (I keep an acoustic on it, so the strap is tied to the headstock) catch on the top of the stand when I pick it up

Okay, studio is still very much in the creation phase. Scooped one of the night stands from a guest room to sit my amp on, still have no guitar stand, so basically just have a bit of space hollowed out and making do. If I have things set up to suit me by January I'll be both surprised and happy.

My Kaossilator 2 which is plugged into the amp and playing drum accompany for me.

I used to have a flametop Epi LP. Really nice guitar for the price.

Might be buying an American Deluxe Strat tomorrow if I play my cards right.

Been noticing many folks play the Fender Jaguar for ambient music. Is there a technical reason for this or is it just because they can be had for (relatively) cheap?
