1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

I was actually going to pull the trigger last night, even texted Gomey to consult on pick ups, and...they are out of stock on the model/colour I want. Was the Epiphone Les Paul Tribute model with '57 humbuckers and the VT80 Valvetronix amp with tube preamp. Says they will be out of the particular one I want until last week of August and I'm headed to San Diego for some fun so I know I will not be pulling the trigger anytime soon. Do not want to order and have it sit at my front door for a week, so can't order before vacation. When I get home I'll log in all those AMEX charge slips and will not feel like dropping another k on a guitar just to toy around on.

I'm thinking about having Amplified Nation build me a cab for the Ceriatone OTS I'm working on. They do great work.

Alright. No amp but my Epiphone Les Paul Tribute plus in faded cherry came into stock. I pounced on it and it ships Monday. Just need an amp now.

I used to write for Vintage Guitar magazine and have owned most Gibson and Fender models at one time or another. I was mostly into 50's Gibson blond archtops, Esquires and LP TV Jr's. I sold my last TV Jr to Keith Richards when he was recording in Sausalito.

Thanks. Still can't believe I pulled the trigger. Looking forward to having it set up by a luthier and getting an amp.

the setup is really important these days. I can't believe how awful these things can be in store.

Think I'm going to stick with the Vox VT+ series for my first amp. Leaning towards the 80 but might get the 40 but either way I won't feel the need to start assembling a stomp box pile.

i have the 100 watt head at my parent's place. thinking about one of these for the apartment, the Vox can't quite get the clean tone like the Marshalls can.

or maybe I'll get one of their 1 watt heads, which sound awesome

Tentative plan at the moment is to get a VT40+ (about $250), see if playing sticks for a year, grab the 40W Marshall which should be all I'll ever need outside of some stomp boxes.

Impressive! I think I heard about 75% of the guitar tones of all rock albums in there.
