1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

No idea but we should definitely consider having an NYC meetup jam.

You forget how cheap I can be; shipping charges really bother me.

Honestly I haven't examined the differences between using an fx loop or not using an fx loop but it seems to me that it will be awhile before you have to worry about any of that stuff, and if The Edge doesn't go through an effects loop into his AC30, I have a hard time believing anyone needs to.

You and polyrock actually play in front of people.

I've seen plenty of live bands who were terrible, so while I can't speak for polyrock, it doesn't necessarily mean much :)

this is why you should have gone with a Gibson. All of these costs just bury themselve in the $2K starter fee. :teach:

Agreed that some live performances have bad players but it still counts as some sort of Rubicon to me. I don't even like having Mrs. Piob hear me at the moment.

It's much easier to play for unknowns than for people you know and care for. My most nervous nights of the fringe run were when guys from my old band, who are some of my best friends, were in the audience.

My DS2 has no paint chips or dents, but the Level knob is broken off from a fall...I suppose I could replace the pot, but for now I am able to just push hard with a fingertip and rotate if I need to adjust that knob.

    :(

i like it, I've used one for years. It lends a different tone than a fuzz or a Tube Screamer. look for some videos on youtube and you'll get an idea of its sound.

they can be found fairly cheap as well, Amazon has them for $70-something new.

Don't listen to me...it is the only pedal I own. I wanted a distortion pedal when I was in 8th grade, and it was the one at the small local music shop that said "distortion" on it, so it was the one I got from my parents for my birthday.

It made much more interesting sounds than the overdrive mode on my little fender amp, and it is still going strong (minus a knob) almost a decade and a half later, so I suppose that means it is a good little pedal.

WTF did I let myself become involved in YET ANOTHER hobby that has a crap ton of tempting and often expensive little bits to collect/acquire?
